May Your Pillow Catch Fire! A Sermon on Empathy by Rev. Scott Alexander – Empathy (and the lack of it) has arisen as an issue in this year’s Presidential campaign. In addition, recently there was a rather startling thought piece in the New York Times entitled “The Trouble with Empathy.” All this talk about empathy has caused me to reflect further on this human quality, which I believe is spiritually essential for us as Unitarian Universalists.

Speaker Bio:

Rev. Scott Alexander is a seasoned, experienced, and widely-respected Unitarian Universalist minister, who currently serves the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach, Florida. He is the author of five books and has long been active in the denomination in a variety of capacities. Rev. Alexander is also an endurance athlete and rides his bike every day. After serving in the ministry for 47 years, he and his partner of 30+ years will be retiring and moving to Sheboygan, Wisconsin in July to be closer to family. He is looking forward to helping support the Fellowships in Northeast Wisconsin.
